Walkin Down The Line

So, I’m currently sitting here happily jamming out to Joan Baez’ “Walkin’ Down the Line,” which is a beautiful cover of a Bob Dylan song. I love that man. Seriously. I’m naming a future pet hedgehog after him. But that’s another post for another day. Or not. Because now my brain says “Explain, explain, explain.” So I shall. The hedgehog will be called Atticus “Zimmie” Connolly. Atticus for Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird, Zimmie was a nickname of Dylan’s and Connolly was for James Connolly, a leader of the Easter Rising, in 1916. πŸ™‚

But this post is supposed to be about music and my love of it. I had intended to tell you how I was sitting here, in my purple round chair that I love, blissfully conducting an invisible performance of that song with my left hand, while the other holds my IPad, through which the music comes. But, that’s really all there is to say about that, besides that my conducting might look like stimming to some people, though I don’t know and don’t mean any offense by the use of the term.

I self-identify as someone who may be an Aspie/HFA, though a counselor disagrees–she is a helpful, wonderful person, so I’m confused about whether I believe her or not. I am also visually impaired, so non-verbal communication is hard for me anyway. Regardless of whether I’m just an incredibly odd NT–my counselor’s opinion, though she didn’t use the word ‘odd’ or NT; she simply said that my quirks were “me” and my Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ranges between INFJ and INFP depending on my mood and how spontaneous I feel, though stress turns me into an ISTJ— so that may explain it– or genuinely Autistic/Aspie, I adore music–which isn’t to imply a value judgment vis a vis music and the above mentioned terms–but to simply state a fact.

Also, my train of thought just derailed in the middle of this. And the above slightly convoluted sentence is how my brain works most of the time. It jumps from one thing to another or one connection to another and I usually manage to keep all of it from spilling out of my mouth–though i”m pretty sure that “Speaking of gerbils” five minutes after the conversation had shifted and no one but me heard the remark that sparked that lead into my story, which will now become a running joke among my friends is an indication that I’m not always successful. XD

I don’t remember the point of this post now, which happens to me a lot when I blog and is probably one of the reasons I don’t. I assume everything has to have a ‘point’ and shouldn’t just be my nonsensical ramblings. But, this is my blog, and I can ramble if I like. πŸ™‚ So, I’ll just tell you about something else cool that happened today. I got a neat journal. it’s big, and has a bright cover that I adore, and I’m going to use it to practice my handwriting in. Yes I’m in grad school and my writing looks like a sleep deprived doctor doing massive amounts of speed. >__<

My future students will appreciate my attempts to improve it, I think. Also, the journal itself is very "me" and I love it for that. If I can figure out how, I'll post a picture of it so that anyone so inclined may take a look. πŸ™‚

So, hedgehogs are adorable and I love them and they make me beyond happy. ONe day I will have one–and that was pretty much the gist of the other post I'd thought about writing on hedgehogs, so there you are. The short version. Gasp. πŸ™‚

Other things I enjoy

1. Making lists.

2. St. Joan of Arc–she's an inspiration and I love reading about her and writing about her.

3. Bob Dylan/Joan Baez

4. Pepsi

5. Sleep, but I"m wide awake now so I won't be getting much of that tonight probably.

That's it for now. I think I"ll wrap this up with a quote from the song that's currently on repeat.

"Seen the mornin' light and its not because i"m an early riser I just never got to seep last night." I love that line. πŸ™‚

INFJ is Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging and INFP is Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving, for those who were wondering. πŸ™‚

Peace,
